Arjun Nair has joined the #ThunderNation as the youngest member at the age of 18 and is likely to take the field for the Sydney Thunder at Etihad Stadium against Melbourne Renegades tonight.
Nair is an Australian cricketer and made his first-class debut for New South Wales in the Sheffield Shield in February 2016. He has had a busy schedule playing for Australia in National Performance Squad, NSW in the Futures League and Cricket Australia XI in the Matador Cup.
He managed to bowl his best figures in October when he played for Cricket Australia XI bowling 3/15 against Western Australia. And is also capable of contributing with the bat having a high score of 67 runs for Cricket Australia XI against Victoria in Sydney.
He has most recently been playing for the Sydney Thunder in the practice matches against Hong Kong, Melbourne Stars and Bangladesh where Sydney Thunder won four out of the five games. He impressed with his bowling in the practice games especially with the turn and drift of the ball.
He has been named in the 13-man squad for Thunder vs Renegades clash and will remain hopeful to take the field. The spin bowler will be looking to make an impact with the ball which is the area the Sydney Thunder bowlers struggled with in their first BBL game of the season.
After running into Arjun after the Thunder’s loss against Sydney Sixers on Tuesday night he admitted he was staying hopeful in being selected for the next Sydney Thunder game (vs Renegades). His positive attitude certainly paid off as he was named in the 13- man squad and will be likely to be given an opportunity to show his talent tonight against the Melbourne Renegades.
